He closed his eyes and leaned his head forward. In the pre-start area. Collecting
his thoughts, he was whizzing through the most difficult points along the track. At first
slowly and calmly in his mind, later literally zigzagging up the racecourse. He did this one
last time. Today in Rechberg, Austria, during the Hillclimb Championship.
Otakar Kramsky, the Czech Formula Reynard K-15 driver, was a passionate
competitor who adored the hill climbs. His short life was overflown with many victories,
titles of utmost prestige. There was no one like him in his home country, several times
National Champion and many times on European stands.
And, yes – he loved Buzet. He loved the spectators, the track, the fireworks
display at Komušćica curve… He did enjoy the “sports spectacle with the soul”, in his own
Otakar Kramsky whizzed the Most – Peničići track in Buzet in September 2014 for
the last time. He stopped, in full swing in the Austrian hills. Forever. We wish to thank
him for creating a speck of Buzetski Dani history.
” I’ll be back next year” he told us leaving Buzet last year. He will be back indeed.
In our hearts and minds he’ll live forever…
