Organized by AK Buzet, The 33rd Buzetski Dani European Hill Climb Championship, will take place between the 19th and the 21st September, 2014 on the Most-Peničići track. Being the last race in the EHC calendar, it is bound to be particularly exciting. Furthermore, it counts towards the modern as well as historic EHC Championship, Croatian Championship, Slovene Championship, the CEZ and for the very first time the Austrian Championship. Entries are open until the 9th September, midnight.
The 33rd Buzetski Dani event programme starts on Friday, the 19th at noon with the Administrative checks and the Technical Scrutineering at Sv. Ivan after which, at about 5.30 p.m. there is a Motorcade of the participants, running along the centre of Buzet towards Fontana Square. The Organizer invites everybody to join in cheering and supporting the drivers before the race itself and gives the public an opportunity to mingle among the competitors, take pictures and get autographs. Morover, numerous outdoor sports clubs from Buzet will showcase their charms: downhill and enduro competitors, paragliders, trekkers, walkers, free climbers, speleologists etc. The show will last for two hours and follow the hands-on principle, meaning the visitors will be able to “look as well as touch”. DJ Londer and DJ Hoky followed by attractive dancers will spice up the evening programme in the Mašimova Škuja tent.
On Saturday, the 20th two official Practices take place; the first at 9.30 and the second at 1.30 p.m. On Sunday, the 21st, the first Heat starts at 9 a.m. and the second at 1.30 p.m. The Opening Ceremony, guiding a small surprise, takes place at 1.15 p.m. At 6 p.m. The Prizegiving Ceremony will be held at the Mašimova Škuja Tent.
This year, too we excpect the creme de la creme of the home and European drivers pool: home drivers like Manuel Kodelja, Bojan Krota, Viliam Prodan, Sanjin Prodan, Saša Černeka, Marin Ivančić etc. will certainly attend the event. We are also expecting the current European Champion, Tomislav Muhvić, the only Croatian driver to take this honour after Niko Pulić.
There are three races left in the Croatian Championship, with Siniša Krainc, Istvan Kavecz and Tomislav Muhvić very close to each other which means we can expect a headed battle among them. In Category II Laszlo Szasz leaves ahead of Dino Butorac and Branimir Radić.
In the European Championship, the Category I as well as Category II winners are already known – the Macedonian Igor Stefanovski and the Italian Simone Faggioli are absolute rules of European venues. Furthermore, Mr. Faggioli holds the Buzet track record at 2.12,209 (average speed at 137 km/ph).
In teams of entertainment, we must mention Lidija Bačić in concert at the Mašimova Škuja Tent on Saturday, the 20th.
DUE TO THE EHCC RACE, THE COUNTY ROAD MOST – SVI SVETI – SVETI DONAT WILL BE CLOSED ON SATURDAY, the 20th September AND SUNDAY, the 21st 2014 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Ticket costs 40 kuna and is valid for both days.
