Along the traditional fireworks display, tears of joy and with the fantastic audience the EHCC 33rd Buzetski Dani concluded last night. We are going to remember this year’s edition by many memorable moments but most of all the records set on the track. The most important was set by “our” most loved Italian formula driver, Simone Fagiolli in the first heat at 2.11,661, almost two tenths better than his last one of two years ago. This will be his sevent European Champion title in Category II. The Czech, Miloš Beneš came second while Fausto Bormolini was third. In Category I of the EHCC the Champion is Igor Stefanovski.

The fastest in in Category I was the Austrian driver Karl Schargel. In his VW gol rallye he got everyone’s attention as he whirled up the Buzet track. Almost 700 horse powers under his hood fascinated the coolest of car lovers, we must say.

Buzetski dani rocked the Croatian Championship classification, too. In Category I Tomislav Muhvić came first in his Mitsubishi Lanceru, which got him really colose to the CP leading Siniša Krainc, driving the Ford Escortu. “Home” drivers Viliam Prodan, Bojan Krota and Sanjin Prodan all won the cups in their groups, setting the local driving scene even stronger and taking it into a bright future.

Last but not least, beside 187 drivers from 13 countries running in the European, Croatian, Slovene and Austrian Championships and 47 promo drivers, Buzetski Dani has another ace up its sleeve: its magnificent audience! Thousands of race lovers and enthusiasts flocked along the track to cheer for the drivers during the Practices on Saturday as well as the Heats yesterday. There were flags fluttering in the breeze, cheering, singing and clapping. On the Komušćica curve, the most popular hub of the track, the atmosphere was extra spiced up with the Macedonian fans and friends of Igor Stefanovski, the 2014 Category I Champion. Finally, it is interesting that this year a driver from the newly-emerged country – Kosovo also participated the race among the Promo drivers: Shkelzen Lajqi ran in his Honda Civic and achieved a fantastic result. In his party there were guests from Kosovo led by Mr Ismet Rexepi, Head of the Kosovar Motorsport Federation. The Organizer, AK Buzet has millions of reasons to be happy and satisfied!
